Blumer Breaks Through at Gravity Park

Blumer Breaks Through at Gravity Park

Chilton, WI (August 17th, 2025) - Eric Blumer had come so close so many times prior, Luxy, Beaver Dam, and even Gravity Park before. But he finally was able to seal the deal and pick up his first Midwest Legends Dirt Series at Gravity Park.

A track record thirty-one-cars made the trip with all the big guns in attendance. Tight points battles throughout the field meant some of the said drivers had to cash in as much as possible.

Four N&S Towing Heat Races were on the cards first, with heat one going to Blumer, while Hayden Schmuhl and Connor Carey came home second and third.

Heat two was won by Ryan Sullivan, taking a commanding win over Rob Maule in second and Cal Swenson in third.

Halfway through the heats and number three came to the track with Talyn Neuman picking up the win to his little brother Daxton’s delight. Jeff Schmidt and Lilly Fassbender rounded out the top three.

Dallas Ross brought home the final heat of the night with second going to Alex Haese and third to Keith Moline.

An eleven-car Fastline Design and Graphics B-Main was up next with Cade Reisdorf and Jeff Barth on the front row. The battles were hard all around the track and it ended up being debutant Tyler Schrimpf taking home the win. Adam Zellmer went from fifth to second on the last lap with Barth and Faith Zellmer-Schultz picking up transfer spots.

The top twelve-cars after heat races redrew which put Blumer and Swenson on the front row. Blumer led the field to green, which was quickly halted by a yellow. Blumer restarted well and maintained the lead, while Swenson challenged him for the spot. The field got to fighting which ended in a red flag as contact deep in the field flipped Carey over. Carey was okay, unlike his and some other's cars, with the wreck claiming four others. One of the four was Swenson, who, when the red flag flew, tangled with Blumer who began to slow. In the end, Swenson’s night was over early. In the meantime, Blumer led the field back to green and got racing going again. The bottom was the line to be on and Blumer knew it, rolling the catfish line and beginning to run away. Neuman moved into second and had to fight with Moline and Sullivan for the spot. It took a few laps, but Neuman found his groove, closing the gap of a second down to three-tenths. Sullivan followed suit and ripped the high side past Neuman for second and set his sights forward. With just four laps to go, Sullivan threw the kitchen sink at Blumer, who was just fast enough to keep the lead.

At the checkered flag, Eric Blumer sealed his first Midwest Legends Dirt Series in style. Sullivan finished second and extended his points lead, with Neuman wrapping up a career best weekend in third. Moline snuck by in fourth with Schmuhl finishing in fifth.

After the win, Blumer was awarded gifts from Aero Race Wheels and Rush Race Gear. Zellmer-Schultz brought home the Professional Plating and Rush Race Gear Hard Charger, going thirteen-spots forward, and coincidentally enough, her number was also drawn as the HMS Motorsports Award winner.

It’s a break for the rest of the month of August with the unfortunate rainout at The Hill Raceway. The series will be back on September 6th with a trip to Outagamie Speedway in Seymour, Wisconsin.
