Week-One Race Report

The first night of racing is in the books as Eric ran at Beaver Dam Raceway and their 6-Division opener.
With no practice for us before race day, or on race day for that matter, you never know for sure what you’re going to get.

Eric started seventh in his heat, out of eight. Once things shook out on the start and after a yellow, Eric was in fifth early. He was running a higher groove than most. He made a nice pass within the first few laps for fourth, coming off the second turn and taking the car on the low side. He then started reeling in the next car. With about two laps left, still running high, he set the car up coming out of turn-four and got him by the first turn.

After the heat, Eric said it was one of the best cars he’s had to date. This is a credit to the hard work he and Justin have put in during the off-season.

The feature was a bit of a disappointment. Eric started third and finished ninth in the 22 car field. But that equaled his best Beaver Dam finish of 2018. The drivers that finished ahead of him still have a lot more experience than Eric. Most importantly, the car was rolled on the trailer.

We’ll be back in action next week, Saturday, May 11, at BDR.

Thanks to all the sponsors, but this week in particular, Bill and Tara Berg at Storage & Handling Systems, Brandon and Mark at B.R.S. Radiator, Machine and Fabrication and Bullseye Games, as we are still working on getting their vinyl done so it can be applied to the car!
